Racist Attacks
and Harassment Multi-Agency Strategy
(RAHMAS) The RAHMAS partnership is opposed to racism. Each partner is fully committed to take action to identify and eliminate unlawful racial discrimination, racist attacks and harassment and to promote good relations between people of different racial groups. All partners are fully committed to achieving these aims through active participation in this strategy and to ensure that we remain responsive to the changing needs of society. Each partner will pro-actively encourage an environment both internally and externally that recognises and respects diversity, challenges discrimination, as well as inappropriate behaviour or language, wherever it is encountered. Each partner will continue to participate actively in a multi-agency response in dealing with racist incidents that occur, as well as providing necessary support to the victim when required. The partners will continue to monitor and review policy and procedures regularly and will encourage the development of relevant programmes and good practice. Each agency will actively participate in an annual review on the effectiveness of RAHMAS. This will include publication of an annual report.
